Position Title: Clinical Practitioner
Company: City of Westminster
Location: Westminster, London borough, UK
As a Clinical Practitioner in our Changing Futures Programme you can make your own powerful contribution. The programme is a central government funded initiative to improve outcomes for young people experiencing three or more of the following: homelessness, offending, substance misuse, mental health needs and domestic abuse. Our team is working to achieve social justice and promote inclusion through providing a non-judgemental and holistic support service to 18 – 25 year old residents who have experienced multiple forms of disadvantage.
- Your work will involve training in and become proficient at using a compassion-focused approach, and using these skills to identify psychological, relational, emotional or behavioural issues in the young people you work with.
- You’ll then formulate, implement and evaluate effective treatment options and plans while taking into account a range of therapeutic models and theories, and work with specialist practitioners to deliver one-to-one sessions for an initial period of six weeks.
- It’s essential that you have the skills to work in multi-disciplinary and statutory settings as you provide a range of therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families, and you’ll have the expertise to undertake assessments of therapeutic need and contribute these to childcare planning in a multi-disciplinary context.
- You should have knowledge of the factors affecting the emotional wellbeing of young people, and a readiness to identify and promote the strengths, resources and abilities of your clients.
